FAQs

What should I wear to hike?

Check the weather! For a more comfortable experience, dress according to the current weather conditions for the area you will be hiking. Remember to factor in altitude differences that may occur on your trail causing the weather to be cooler at the top. Dressing in layers that are easy to remove and easy to carry once you take them off is recommended. In cooler temperatures, clothing that insulates but not too tight and restrictive are good options.

**Good to wear: non-cotton, polyester and wool- these things absorb moisture and dry quicker

Where do we camp?

Everywhere! We've camped in numerous state parks throughout the state of Georgia; standard tent sites, electric sites, primitive sites, pioneer (group) sites, back country sites. We've recently began venturing private campgrounds, and love the peace and serenity it brings to the camp/glamp experience. When we totally want to disconnect, backcountry backpacking (hiking to a remote spot (on or off trail) and camping out) is where you can find us. We really love exploring different places and ways to enjoy nature while camping outdoors.

What type of shoes should I wear to hike?

Shoes with thick and sturdy soles will be your best friend out on the trails. You'll want to wear shoes that’ll not only protect your feet and toes, but provide them with support and cushioning as well. Proper ankle support should be considered.

When your ready, investing in a nice pair of hiking shoes/boots is a worthwhile investment. You don't have to break the bank for them either. I found my first pair of hiking boots at an outdoor gear store’s going out of business sale for an outdoor sports gear store. $40. They've been holding me down every since. (- Princess)

What should I bring on my hike?

If you want to have things with you, a day hiking bag or small bookbag will come in handy. This is will keep you hands free and everything in one place. Keep in mind, the more you bring, the more you carry so pack responsibly before you hit the trails. You got this!

**Consider any allergies or medicines you may need while out. Healthy snacks, water, gps, taillamp, charged cell phone, ID, sanitizer, first-aid, journal, pen, hammock or anything else you’d like to enjoy while hiking or relaxing on the trail. Oher items that get tossed in our bags: trekking poles, Bluetooth speaker, incense, a blanket, wipes, a positive attitude.

Do you always hike the same trail?

Nope! That’s the beauty of exploring outdoors. Whether it’s locally or a bit of a drive, there’s so many options to choose from.
